In much of the world, ADR is an underdog to violence, hatred, and war. Certainly the human race has learned more about peacefully resolving disputes since the. . . cavemen . . . But in the competition between ADR and violence, ADR and its precursors have most often been overwhelmed by our more base nature, allowing war heroes to cast their long shadow.
